Body Building Stereotypes Are So Yesterday

Thirty years or so ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger was a champion body builder but there is far more to the sport of body building than simply trying to make your body look like his did back then. Most people think that body building is about growing your muscles to incredible sizes. The simple truth is that body building is all about strengthening your muscles and then building them up to give you a “prettier” physique. It isn’t about “getting ripped.” It is actually about getting healthy. If you are interested in starting your own body building routine, keep reading to find some useful tips! Don’t forget that the key to body building is becoming healthy first and then getting pretty later. Also, you should check out the Jeff Cavaliere AthLEAN-X training system — it’s extremely effective.

Learn how to breathe the right way. Proper breathing is essential when you are doing body building exercises. You should not hold your breath. Your muscles need oxygen to stay healthy so you need to breathe in a lot of it during a body building workout. When you breathe you want to breathe in from your diaphragm and not from your lungs. It is difficult to give your torso a proper work out if you don’t breathe correctly because filling your lungs with too much air expands your chest too much to be able to do any real work. If you breathe from the diaphragm you are still taking in all the oxygen you need but it doesn’t cause your chest to expand. Work out all of your muscles every time you exercise. Don’t just focus on your shoulders, your legs, your arms or your cardiovascular system. Each work out you complete should include exercises that work on all of these muscle groups. If you only work on one set of muscles then your other muscles won’t progress the same way. This could leave you looking and feeling lopsided and out of whack. To really be healthy you have to work out your whole body. This is the same for every kind of exercise that you might choose. Body building is not unique.

Stay positive. The story of The Little Engine that Could is more than a cliché. It is a real thinking pattern. It is how you will be successful.

You have to have faith in yourself. You have to try to stay positive or getting discouraged is a real possibility. It is also important to note that your body will show more of a response if you stay positive. It is easier to build your body when you like your current situation. If you can’t stand the actions you are taking you won’t be able to take them for very long. Body building is something that everybody can do. It is a good way to focus on your health and getting in shape. There are some who enjoy body building so much that they have turned it into a job! You don’t have to have that much passion for it but if you keep going you might find that you enjoy the way it makes your body feel and how you look. Be sure to set goals you can reach, approach the sport with common sense and enjoy it–it could have a great effect on your health!
