I can’t imagine why hurting yourself like in paintball game would bring so much excitement and joy to those addicted to it. I can feel by just observing a friend while playing, how much an impact a paintball capsule brings when you are hit. Darn, what is so enjoyable in this battle game? In my mind, I never have to try it. I await my friend outside the paintball arena almost everyday, that is how addicted he was. Still, I never want to try it. There were even times I would do my errands while he is playing and then we meet after his addicting paintball sessions. Every time I am with him I get so curious why he loved and enjoyed that game so much. It just looks unappealing to me.

On his birthday, he treated me out. We ate and had fun. Of course he wasn’t about to let his special day go by without playing his favorite hobby. I can never get pissed off on his birthday, so I decided to just give in to his invitation, a free paintball game with my best friend. I thought to myself, ‘give in, just this once, just for today’. It was a total turn over for me. I thought I will never enjoy. I did really well for a newbie and I totally enjoyed it. I found myself wanting to play again, and again, and again. It feels good to win the battle and to be at your best always. My friend is happy that we can share hours and hours doing our now mutual favorite hobby.

I can’t imagine I have been too preoccupied with my bad thoughts that I closed my doors to experiencing it without even trying. I can’t imagine the fun times I’ve let slip by. If only I tried before, I may not have lost times waiting and doing nothing outside the field. Same thing goes for our negative thoughts about people; we really have to take a chance to get to know a person deeper before resorting to any negative thoughts or conclusions. We all deserve a chance. Some things may help you grow and avoiding it is avoiding the chance of a lifetime. It is funny how fickle-minded I was those days that I have been trying, to avoid the now best sport I love. If I only knew earlier, I might become the best paintball player in town, in our locality or even our country. I have my very own collection of guns, all state-of-the-art. I have come to love it and of course the chance of playing with my best friend. Paintball has become my number one interest. I’ve gone from not wanting anything to do with this sport to loving it so much. Sometimes it really counts to experience a certain situation before you can actually relate to it, when you can already relate to it, and then you start loving it. Never waste your time assuming, and never fear what has not happened, do what has to be done.

In case your players have not performed this skill of heading before, start teaching them by using a deflated ball. This can be done by letting some air out of the ball so that it shrinks and becomes soft and supple for kids to play. In kids soccer drills, I’ll be happy to tell you the fundamental rules of heading before getting down to the major points.

When the ball is in air, teach the players to move along with it so that their body is directly in front of it when they face the ball. Teach the players to continue watching the ball all the way through and until that time when it strikes their forehead.

Let the kids understand the significance of keeping an eye on the ball and watch it coming to them and going away from them. If their eyes are closed, they can be hurt. Teach them in youth soccer practice to use the top-front part of their forehead to strike the ball and not with the temples or top of the head.

Youth Soccer Drills

Most of the youth soccer drills highlight the movement required to head the ball properly. Following are the two drills that have been explained for you:

Sitting and Knees: This youth soccer coaching drill involves just 2 players and a ball. One player needs to sit on the ground with the legs stretched out in the front. Paintball, even just online, is a good stress management technique.  It gives you the chance to breathe and the time you will spend doing it gives you the chance to free your mind for a while – and you will realize after sometime of paintball, the anger slowly fades.  You are not totally freed from anger but at least you get to calm yourself in a moment when all abrupt actions may cause remorse later on.  Sometimes we act too carelessly that we tend to take advantage of the situation.  We don’t realize that sometimes some people doesn’t readily understand – it may just aggravate the situation leading to misunderstandings and gaps.  Imagine how complicating it is to life when you are angered and you cannot control your emotions.  It ruins relationships.  How petty it will be for relationships to be ruined in an instant when it was built through time.  How much is one paintball game when you can save relationships with important people.Did you know paintball can even be played for free on the internet.  What is one paintball game when it can save you from sudden emotional outburst.   Relationships are indispensable to life.   

It can also be when you are nursing a broken heart.  It gives this feeling of peace from within.The pain doesn’t disappear right away, but at least for a moment you can be free of the thought.  It is definitely disheartening when you are in such a situation – and a moment of playing is the only time you can do away with the pain of separation. This is also the only moment that you can reflect on what your life’s direction is.  

We are all going through tough situations, we could only get away with it but it is a part of us.  We only have to make a decision of sometimes freeing our minds but all in a moment.  At least you are giving yourself sometime to disengage yourself with the problem.  It will take time to heal but with the right action plan, you will recover very soon.  Acceptance is the key.  And try not to pressure yourself into believing that it is not healthy to grieve.  Sometimes grieving makes you heal and become a better person after that painful circumstance.
