Adding A Rear Seat To Your Golf Cart

Consult your local golf cart mechanic for more details. Whether you choose the Basic, the 2-n-1, or the 3-n-1 rear seat kit, I’m sure you and your family will enjoy the added benefits you will get from your newly converted and very versatile 4 passenger golf cart.  The 3-n-1 seat is nice but it is a little pricey and would not be my first choice.  This is an excellent option for many golf cart owners because from time to time you need both the ability to carry additional passengers and the option to carry cargo, tools, parcels, and much more.  Additionally, you might want to consider upgrading the battery wiring on you cart from the standard 6 gauge wires to a heavier 4 gauge wire to handle the extra load.  But some people are looking for a complete conversion of their basic used golf cart into a utility vehicle, a 4 passenger unit, a lifted golf cart, a hunting buggy, or maybe a fully equipped custom golf car. One of the most popular conversions on the market today is the 4 passenger utility vehicle .  This is the most economical option.

The rear seat kit is an accessory that you can install yourself, but I would recommend that you let your local dealer install this for you.  When you add a rear seat kit to your golf cart it is important that you also consider having heavy duty leaf springs installed to handle the added weight of carrying 4 passengers.  This is a kit that functions as a standard rear seat, but because it’s hinged it can be folded out, or converted, into a cargo deck for hauling items.

Simple add-ons like a rear view mirror, club and ball washer, front windshield, and head lights can be purchased and self installed in only a few minutes.  Today, people have them for many different uses.  They come in several different versions.

Not to many years ago golf carts were used primarily for playing golf.  The last rear seat option is 3-n-1 kit.  A Basic kit will include a fixed-position rear seat that is attached to the back portion of the vehicle where the golf bags would normally be placed.

This is a rear seat kit that offers the same options as the first two, but has an added feature of being able to convert into a full functioning utility bed with side walls.  Most rear seat kits are available in both steel or aluminum. The typical 2 person golf cart comes equipped with standard rear leaf springs and is designed to carry 2 people and their golfing gear.  The battery operated electric model is probably the most popular but a gasoline model can be an excellent option, depending on your application. There are many different golf cart accessories available on the market including factory and aftermarket sources.

The second option is a 2-n-1 rear seat kit, also known as a convertible rear seat.

How To Practice Golf During The Winter

After the third or fourth time starting down, you can then slowly swing on through and feel what the entire swing should feel like.  Do this about 3 or 4 times feeling the lower body and your upper left connection starting down together.  But a lot of us, especially those of us living up north, can’t hit balls this winter.  From there, start your downswing slowly feeling your lower and upper body starting together.

After you turn back and feel where your body should be, then return to the set-up position with your arms still crossed.  From this position, simply turn your torso inside your feet over a braced right knee, pause and feel the coiling sensation in your body.

Here are a couple of great drills from my book Golf Swing Connection that will keep your swing in-sync this winter. This drill can be done indoors or outdoors.  Next, repeat the same move back, and then after a little hesitation, shift your weight as you turn back through all the way to the finish position over a straight and braced left leg.

That doesn’t mean we can’t practice and keep our swing in shape.  This is a great drill that you can do anywhere and feel what the body does in the golf swing. These are 2 very good drills you can do (one without a club) to help the timing of your arms and body moving together.

With old man winter approaching there’s hardly any time to practice our golf games.  Next, cross your arms in front of your chest.

Assume your correct set-up and posture with a club, but without a ball.  Stop halfway down, and then swing back to the top.

However, there are a couple things you can do this winter that will keep your swing in shape for the up and coming golf season. Of course practicing your swing and hitting balls is the best way to practice.  This is a great drill to train all of your muscles in what a correct downswing feels like. Without a club, assume the correct set-up and posture.

Make your backswing and stop at the top of your backswing.

How To Find The Right Golf Clubs

The less “flex” a shaft has, the more control a player can exert.  You can get a good idea of how they perform in your hands on the driving range.   You should take them for a test drive.  But, the driving range can’t offer the true conditions of an 18-hole game.  However, if you’re beginning to learn the game and don’t yet have a powerful swing, some experts recommend starting with a shaft that has more “flex.” Every set of clubs feels differently for every player in various playing conditions.  Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to choose a proper set of clubs.

Often referred to as “bend” or “flex,” the flexibility of the shaft impacts the player’s control of the ball.  It’s not enough to simply swing it while standing in the store.

If you’re truly considering buying the clubs, golf shops are often happy to let you try them on the course.  Many experts recommend that experienced players with a powerful, well-honed swing use clubs with less “flex” giving them more control.

Also, test them on uphills and downhills.  Often, this can lead to developing bad habits and playing with clubs that aren’t suited well to the player or the playing conditions.

While it’s true that great golfers can perform well with mediocre clubs, it’s also true that the right set of golf clubs can improve your performance and shorten the learning curve it you are just beginning.  This article offers a few things that you should consider when deciding which set of clubs is a good fit for you. The shaft of a club is usually constructed of steel or graphite.

Test the clubs on the terrain and in the conditions in which you will likely play often. For example, test how the club performs and feels in various wind conditions.  Avoid the temptation of purchasing a club without trying them first.

Bonding With Your Son Over Golf

First, emphasize accuracy over distance.  Don’t get them a top of the line set.  You can’t achieve par without accuracy.  Juniors will tend to get excited about long, inaccurate drives that leave them just as far from the hole as a much shorter drive would.  However, golf isn’t exactly like football or golf where you can bring the child out to the backyard and throw a ball around with them at any age.  You should do this towards the child’s game but also towards your own game.

300-yard drives are exciting but you can achieve par without them.  The child won’t have the perseverance to improve if he isn’t enjoying it to begin with. If the junior has shown enough interest to warrant purchasing a set of clubs, go ahead and do it.  Golf can be a very frustrating game, especially when you begin to take it seriously.

Many a golf career has been cut short because expectations of lower scores never came to fruition or came more slowly than expected, so make sure that the child is having fun first and improving second.  Children must be a certain age to learn golf, and by that age you’ll need a little more strategy in teaching them the game than just tossing the ball around. The first important step in teaching the junior in your life golf is to get them excited and maintain that excitement for a period of time.  Make sure the child knows that long is good, but straight is better.

Golf can be a great thing for a father and son (or any combination of parent and child) to do together.  One of the biggest ways you can do this is encouragement and being positive.  Children grow fast and are temperamental in their hobbies; an expensive set could be gathering dust in the garage in a few weeks.

Having their very own set of clubs will often keep children interested in the game long enough to develop some skills.  Besides, expensive golf clubs add so little to your game that you may want to consider making an inexpensive purchase on your next set as well. When it comes to the actual instruction, there are a few basic things to keep in mind.

Spain Sees Increase In Golfing Tourists

A golfer’s paradise, it has become the “Costa del Golf” for golfers from around the world.  The Costa del Sol in southern Spain is the perfect and most popular destination for a wonderful golf holiday.  Many of the golf courses here are championship courses and have been host to prestigious events like the Ryder Cup, Volvo Masters and many more. Golf holidays in Spain are a rage among northern Europeans as it is an ideal winter golfing destination away from the harsh cold weather back home.  Given all this, it is only natural that the summer months see the highest number of golfers in Spain and it is virtually impossible to find any tee times or accommodation during the peak season.  It prides itself on having the highest density of golf courses in all of Europe with over 70 golf courses new courses coming up by the day.  There are also 5 star accommodation facilities available in hotels surrounding the golf courses.

The tourism department has ensured that everyone gets the best of golfing experience and there is top class infrastructure on every course to provide for all the requirements of golfers. Accommodation facilities are available near all the courses and there are some world class golf resorts like the La Cala Golf Resort and many more like it.  The tourist from northern Europe always finds the sun up in the blue skies and the weather just right for a wonderful round of golf no matter what time of the year. Another reason would be the fact that most of the courses here are designed by celebrated names such as Gray Players or Severiano Ballestros.  Four of the golf courses in Costa del sol, Spain are ranked among the top 10 European courses. One of the major reasons for the popularity of the region is the pleasant Mediterranean climate which remains mild and welcoming all year.

Golf resorts increase in popularity as vacation destination

Overshadowed due to the area’s reputation for gambling and entertainment shows, this city is a haven for fine golf.  A lot of Americans are turning to the golf resort vacation as a new and exciting way to get away from the grind.  It doesn’t even have to be expensive, as there are specials for non residents who don’t mind starting their games later in the afternoon.

If you go in the off season, you may have to deal with slightly chillier weather, but you’ll get some great rates.  You may not get to the eighteenth hole, but you’ll get to experience playing on one of the most challenging and beautiful courses in America. One golf resort vacation place that doesn’t get as much attention as it perhaps should is none other than Las Vegas.  The trend has become so popular; there are travel agencies that sell these vacations as complete package deals.

For those golfers who want a more relaxing setting, Pinehurst, North Carolina offers the best in golf and the nicest springtime milieu anyone could possibly ask for.  Plus, there are the other attractions that can fill your time when you’re not hitting the links.  If you go after the peak of summer, the temperatures are very mild, making for wonderful days of golf.

Combined with the growing popularity of couples taking separate vacations, this could be what you’ll want to look at if you love golf and want to escape the day-to-day for a while.  Torrey Pines South is one of the top golf courses in the world, and any golfer should try it at least once if they have the means.  If you’re looking for something new and exciting to do for your next vacation, you might want to consider one of these destinations. One of the most popular and highest rated places for a golf resort vacation is La Jolla, California.

PGA Tour season opens without Finchem

KAPALUA, Hawaii - Three of the highest-paid people on the PGA Tour were absent Thursday on opening day at the Mercedes-Benz Championship — Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and commissioner Tim Finchem.

A couple of players found that to be odd Thursday.

“It’s the opening of the year, this is important,” Stephen Ames said after completing the first round of the year at 1-under 72. “I think he should be here. He’s here at the end. Is this any different? It should be the same.”

Finchem doesn’t travel to every tournament, and he isn’t always at Kapalua for the first event of the year. PGA Tour spokesman Bob Combs said the commissioner was at the Mercedes the last two years and “will be attending again.”

“It was a combination of business commitments and trying to manage a very challenging travel schedule over the course of a full season,” Combs said of his absence.

More troubling to Joe Ogilvie, a member of the PGA Tour policy board, was not seeing any member of the tour’s executive staff at Kapalua for the first shot, the first round, the first tournament.

“I’m pretty disappointed there’s no senior staff from the PGA Tour here on opening day,” Ogilvie said before adding a heavy dose of sarcasm. “Of course, when you shut down your offices from the 21st of December to the second of January … I don’t know of a $1 billion company that does that. It’s puzzling.”

Ogilvie said he felt it sent a bad message, especially with four of the top 10 players in the world skipping the winners-only event. Woods, who earned $10.8 million last year, said he wanted to spend time with his family. Mickelson, second on the money list in 2007 with just over $5.8 million, did not give a reason and has not played at Kapalua since 2001. Also missing are British Open champion Padraig Harrington and Shell Houston Open winner Adam Scott.
