What if I told you that coaches do make such mistakes in kids soccer drills that have the potential to destroy a team and make it a loser. And it’s absolutely right. Lot of people must be busy finding out the big reason responsible for a team’s such great downfall. Okay then, let it be known that reasons are countless.

You will have to work very watchfully and advantageously in designing soccer drills for kids. You need to understand the psychology of the kids. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But unfortunately, many coaches are unprepared to adjust to it. They do not appreciate the difference between coaching the kids and coaching mature players.

So here it is; top mistakes or sins as I call them that coaches make and put their teams on a losing track.

1. A lot of them consider their jobs as casual work. They don’t consider in necessary to be prompt in reaching the ground, set up the drills, or systematize practice sessions. Such behavior is bad and also has the potential to sadden the kids. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Make arrangements for youth soccer drills beforehand. Put together all kinds of equipments which you would need to accomplish the drills.

Be on time. Make it a point to reach the field earlier than the kids. Well in fact, grace the filed with your presence when kids reach. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.

2. When the coaches deliver the instructions before the kids soccer drills, they tend to take a lot of time. Can you anticipate how boring that can get? You must realize that players are more interested in playing than hearing. Always speak for less amount of time. Use this opportunity to talk to the kids about the strategy and styles that the kids should learn.

Also, do not interrupt the kids when they are playing. If there is something that you need to tell the kids, wait for the session to end. Also, observe the kids from outside when they are playing.

3. Some coaches get ruthless and unkind while dealing with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, this can prove to be catastrophic. It may spell disaster for you if you get carried away by emotions on the field. It is fine for the kids to make errors. Never forget that they are very young. You should not take it seriously and get offensive with the players.

If you do, understand that you not only make the kids lose interest in the sport but also invite disciplinary action. Soccer is a game of the intelligent. When you help the kids know the meaning of it, they will love the game.
