What A Way For The Kids To Spend The Summer — In Your Own Backyard, In Their Plastic Kiddie Pools

We’re on our way home. Together with our children which we picked up at the school, we decided to go by the mall to get some groceries to beef up our stock. [RealizingKnowing] it’s weekend, we can relax a little in the mall. We permitted the kids to play in the arcades but had an agreement that they should be back within two hours. That should leave us ample time to window shop. We were just finishing paying for our groceries when, imagine to our shock, when our kids came storming back to us, babbling and screaming in ecstasy. The main culprit? The kids were so enthralled with this plastic kiddie pools sensation they promised us anything just so we would promise to buy them one of the pools.

Nice try, but no, we said to them, thinking it was just one of their eccentric whims of the moment. They have the weakness to grab things they end up not liking later. But they pleaded, wheedled and practically begged for us just to see these plastic kiddie pools and decide for ourselves. Just to appease them, after transferring our groceries in our car, we went to see the kiddie pools my kids are simply frenzied about.

We can now see why the kids were so ecstatic. There’s no other way to express what we felt, we simply must have these adorable pools. In our minds, we can just see the kids running, swimming, yelling, screaming and playing around those adorable pools. Winking at each other, my husband and I let ourselves be persuaded by the kids into buying a pool. Little did they know that we will certainly buy one had we seen it first. In fact, we were so convinced, we bought two.

It was still early when we arrived at the house, the youngsters left no time putting up the pools. It was a picture-perfect scene. While we are busy preparing the food and drinks, you can hear and picture the kids laughing and yelling while they fill up the pool – straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. We were really having fun. Not contented, the kids went to their rooms and grabbed some toys to play with. Immediately, yelling and screaming, the kids charged into their pool. The kids, us — all of us are having a grand time. I would never trade this moment for anything. Looking on, my husband and I agreed we made the right decision in buying the plastic kiddie pools.
