The Basics: Ping Pong Forehand Shot

The forehand push is the most basic forehand shot in a ping pong sport. It is the vital skill for any ping pong players. Wherever you are on the table, to hit forehands you will need to develop a good side-to-side footwork. But to work extra on your backhand actually never hurts, the point of these is for that your opponent won’t know what hit him or her when you blast that down the line backhand smash! The best players are always two-winged, or being able to attack almost equally well on both hands.

Although ping pong can be played in any way you want, but if you want to play the way described above and be as good as you could, you should try to pick up as many as you can the ten skills. These ten skills are presented in the ping pong videos here. But before we start, you, or your coach or parent, should decide whether you should hold the paddle shakehand or penholder and the kind rubber sheet to cover the paddle.
